Why we built TieCut
I've spent the last three years working at a dealership in Northern Virginia. Our lot is big, and cars almost never get put back where they started. So when a customer is finally ready to look at a specific one, I end up walking the rows trying to find it. More than once it took long enough that the customer gave up and left, or pulled out their phone and found a better deal somewhere else while they waited.
The software was no better. Most CRM and dealership tools feel like they were built fifteen years ago and never touched again. The dealership pays a lot for them every month and gets very little back. That always felt backwards to me.
